In which the witch ponders global warming

The tide has turned...the sun is returning. Yes, the calendar says January, but there is something in the quality of the light that is different now.

Anyone else notice that the trees have buds on them? Now that is weird. Tell me global warming isn't real. The cherry trees at my condo complex are actually starting to get blooms on them. Don't they know it's January?

The birds in the air...they seem mixed up...scattered, flying in all directions. I could swear that some of them didn't even fly south this year. Why should they when it is warming up so quickly? My Dad says he saw a spring bird...a Robbin...I believe, just the other day. A Robbin? In January? That would be nearly two full months or more before they start coming back. And on TV, I heard that they had found a buttercup in bloom in Montana...the earliest ever recorded date...at least two months earlier than normal.

What have we done to our planet? What have we done to ourselves? It wouldn't surprise me if in 10 years, we see 60 degrees as a daily temperature in January in Virginia...Gods, it was 64 just a week ago. And imagine the summers...110, 120. Virginia was developed over a lot of swamp land, and it already is a humid steam bath in summer. It'll be intolerable.

Well, enough of this happiness...all is well. Blessings to all of you out there.

Love,

Salem
