In which the witch contemplate time and reality

Well, Tuesday is here, and nearly come and gone. Thank Goddess. It has been another long drawn out day at work. Really, not that bad, but I got up early for a meeting that ended up being cancelled. And I have to get up early again tomorrow for another meeting. Hopefully, this one won't be cancelled. Getting up early does not mean leaving earlyI end up staying longer because coming in early gets me out the door at the height of rush hour. Whereby I'd spend an hour and a half getting home, when after 8ish, the commute is 20 minutes or less. So, I stay.

Been thinking about time and all the artificial constructs that mankind has created to impose order on our supposedly chaotic universe. We assume the universe is chaotic, and we assume that we need to impose order. But I think that if we were able to take several steps back and look at the universe from a distance, order is already inherent. It may not be an order that we understand or are familiar with, but it is there.

Another thing I've been thinking about is "time" itself. Is there really such a thing? We created the clock and the calendar based on the movements of the stars and the planets, and it is help in that people who go by the calendar and the clock can be at the same proscribed place and the same timewhat we perceive as same time and place. But, really, does time exist as we suppose? My understanding is time is linearbut where did the clock start, and where does it end? Or does it? I am beginning to think that time is horizontalthat everything that every happened, is happening, or will happen is occurring all at once. If we could but move up and down the scale, so to speak, we could move directly to another event, parallel to what we are experiencing, and what would be perceived as "the past." Or "the future." Time is not linear, it is infinite, but not occurring "in sequence." Everything is occurring all at once. Or perhaps Time is circulara huge, huge, infinitely large circle, which we could travel upon, choosing our destination, at will. Or even at random. There are so many constructs that man has created to keep civilization afloat, but perhaps at the price of the freedom of our minds to see how the universe really works.

I've also been thinking about parallel realities. I read awhile back that it is possible there are infinite realities, not just possible, but likely. And that these realities blur and shift, if only subtly. And that we cross through these realities all the time, most times not realizing it, but sometimes knowing something isn't quite right, but not being able to place what the difference is. Some of these changes in "reality" could be as small as a grain of sand on a beach on the other side of the world. But it is a change in the reality that one is experiencing. Has this happened to you?

Onto to less heady subjects, and back to old friends. I continue to spin the web, drawing friends in, contacting them, energizing. Round three involved follow-up e-mails to those who responded to rounds one and two. So far, I now have a date for lunch, a date for dinner, a party and a barbecue, a future date for drinks (when I get downtown :-) ), and a pal to bum around Pride with in June. In round four, I was able to coax two more people our of seclusionthe lunch date and the drinks. Round four also included sending links to all my online locations, so that people can keep up with what I am doing if they so choose. Round five begins tomorrowemails to the first, second, third, and four round groups, and a fifth round try for those who've yet to respond.:-) I am working my way up to getting more people out to Pride (whether they want to or not ;-) ), and perhaps a group dinner, and a party. Being a social butterfly is hard work, but it always has been. It does have its rewards. :-)

Love to you all,

Salem
