In which the Witch spreads Valentine's joy

Greetings Lovers on this Valentine's Day!

To celebrate, I am posting a few spells and rituals from various sources to further your romantic intentions. Remember, when casting any love spell, it is best to let the universe choose who will answer your call. Manipulative love spells, forcing someone to love you who does not, can and will backfire in unforeseen ways. A Dream Spell by James Kambos

Long ago, this day was considered a very magical one. Traditionally,
this was believed to be the day when the birds would begin to sing
again. It was known as St. Valentine's Eve. Foods associated with
romance were prepared and at night, many people performed rituals to
induce prophetic dreams, hoping to see a future lover. The dream
spell which follows is very old and perfect for this day. Before
going to sleep, place three white-candy coated almonds beneath your
pillow. Concentrate as you say:

Almonds, symbol of love
and fertility,
Let me see who my lover
will be.

Without thinking of anyone specific, go to sleep. Sweet dreams.

Love Divination Spell by James Kambos

In medieval calendars this was a day of love, when all nature found a
mate. By the eighteenth century this was called St. Valentine's Day
Eve, and was set aside as a time to divine the identity of a future
love. Prophecies were sought by inducing dreams or by scrying. To
see a possible future mate, try this spell. On a table, place your
favorite scrying tool--a sphere, mirror, or bowl of water. Surround
this with five dried bay leaves, placed so they will roughly
represent the shape of a pentagram. Inhale the scent of the leaves,
relax, and say:

With these leaves of bay,
let me see the love coming
my way.

Scry for about ten to fifteen minutes. When done, put the leaves in
a love charm or bag to use again.

Valentine Love Spell by Abby Willowroot

It all starts with two red candles and a small piece of chocolate.
Light the candles and eat the chocolate just before reciting this
verse:

Candles glow and love
grow,
Fill my heart with sacred
play.
Love be near and love be
clear,
Opne hearts so they can
hear.

Expressions of love, joy,
and trust.
Not confused by want
and lust.
Magnify my love to see,
The heart whose love is
meant for me.

Love's great beauty,
Love's great truth
Is in my heart and spirit
too.
Open my heart to the
one for me;
Open my eyes so I can
see.

If another heart yet
waits for me,
Reveal my soul mate,
whe'er he may be.
Make me wise to love as
you.
Reveal my soul mate,
loving and true.

Fill my true love's mind
with thoughts of me.
Happy, caring, loving,
and free.
Keep me happy, cheerful,
And true,
Patiently awaiting my
lover new.

True love will come when
time is right,
May it be this very

If time be right, and I
be prepared,
Speed my love's journey
with no time spared.

Love Spell by Salem Drake

Round the starry tableu old,
Find and bring me love untold,
Let this magic spell be bold,
A lover whom my arms can hold,
True and stout, brave and kind,
May we both be of like mind,
Warm and sweet, tender and mild,
May love come to me, this magical child.
So Mote it Be!

(Burn a consecrated and dressed pink candle when reciting this.
Visualize your desire for the correct love for your life, and let the
candle burn completely down.)

A Valentine Spell for Lovers by Gerina Dunwich

To help attract a passionate lover into your life, perform this spell
at midnight on Saint Valentine's Day, preferably outdoors in a quiet
location where you will not be disturbed. Take a blank Valentine
card (either store-bought or homemade, and the fancier the better)
and draw a pentagram inside it using dragon's blood (a magickal ink
traditionally used by Witches in all forms of love enchantment, and
available at most occult shops.) As you do this, focus all of your
thoughts upon the type of lover you wish to attract, such as his or
her physical attributes, personality traits, and so forth. But take
care not to name or visualize any specific individual. In each of
the pentrgran's five points, draw a smaller pentagram, and then in
its center, write your name five times. Sprinkle some dried thyme
(an herb associated with love spells) inside the card as you say:

With Words of Rhyme
And herbs of Thyme
To conjure passion
This spell I fashion

Close the card and place it inside an envelope. Light a red candle
(strawberry or apple-scented works the best) and then drip some of
the melted wax onto the envelope to form the symbol of a heart.
Using the flame of the same candle, set the envelope and card on
fire. Place them in a fireproof container an das they burn, recite
the following incantation:

As the fire of desire
Burns this herb-filled valentine
May the power of its magick
Bring a loving one so fine.
So Mote it Be!

After the flames have died out and the ashes have cooled, gather them
up and sprinkle them outside of your house at each of the four
directional points, starting with East, and then South, West, and
finally North
